Hotshot Class A CDL Training Program Location: Las Vegas, Nevada Program Overview: The Hotshot Class A CDL Training Program is designed to train individuals in the skills and knowledge required to become professional hotshot truck drivers. The program emphasizes safety, hands-on experience, and mastery of industry standards. Graduates of this program will be prepared to pass the Class A CDL written and skills tests and secure employment in the rapidly growing hotshot trucking industry. Course Duration: 6 weeks Course Curriculum: Week 1: Introduction to Hotshot Trucking and Class A CDL 1.1 Overview of hotshot trucking 1.2 Class A CDL requirements and endorsements 1.3 Hotshot trucking industry trends and opportunities Week 2: Hotshot Truck Safety and Regulations 2.1 Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSRs) 2.2 Hours of service rules 2.3 Vehicle inspections and maintenance 2.4 Hazardous materials transportation Week 3: Hotshot Truck Operations 3.1 Hotshot truck equipment and configurations 3.2 Cargo securement and weight distribution 3.3 Hotshot trailer types and usage 3.4 Loading and unloading procedures Week 4: Practical Skills Training 4.1 Pre-trip inspections 4.2 Coupling and uncoupling procedures 4.3 Basic control skills (straight line backing, parallel parking, alley docking) 4.4 Shifting and transmission operation Week 5: Advanced Driving Techniques 5.1 Defensive driving and collision avoidance 5.2 Night driving and extreme weather conditions 5.3 Mountain and desert driving 5.4 Route planning and trip management Week 6: Test Preparation and Job Placement Assistance 6.1 Class A CDL written test preparation 6.2 Class A CDL skills test preparation 6.3 Resume building and interview techniques 6.4 Job placement assistance and networking opportunities Hands-On Training: Throughout the course, students will receive hands-on training with hotshot vehicles, both on a closed course and on public roads. Training will focus on driving techniques, vehicle operation, and safety procedures. Certification: Upon successful completion of the program and passing the Class A CDL written and skills tests, students will be awarded a Class A Commercial Driver's License with appropriate endorsements. Additional Requirements: Prospective students must possess a valid driver's license, be at least 21 years of age, and pass a DOT physical examination and drug test.
